PEBACA What A Concert in Manila

The quest to broaden my horizon continues! I recently stumbled into an unexpected chance to photograph an international act, thanks to someone from a photowalk group I just joined. The show was happening at UP Diliman—super near my place—so of course I jumped at the chance to go out and practice shooting.

PEBACA: WHAT A CONCERT

I had zero clue about Thai BL going in, but I did know the genre existed. And honestly? I ended up really enjoying the show—almost as much as I enjoyed being surrounded by fans who were so ride-or-die for their favorites. The crowd’s energy reminded me of my friends in our early twenties, desperately trying to catch a Kjwan gig, or the time we used all our savings just to see Deftones live. (Silver tickets only… but totally worth it.)

Here’s what I learned that night: PEBACA is made up of three loveteams — PERAYA (Krist-Singto), BABII (Off-Gun), and POLCA (Tay-New). And wow, the fans went absolutely feral in the best way. It was loud, chaotic, wholesome, and honestly such a fun energy to be in the middle of. And even if I couldn't relate in the beginning, I left feeling like I am in the know.
